Need Your Help - A New USGS Streams Gauge Page

Great stuff Dave. I might like to see this site added "Youghiogheny River at Youghiogheny River Dam, PA - USGS-03077500". This is the tailwater outflow and in conjunction with the gage below confluence (that you already have), one can determine how much of the flow is coming from the tailwater versus the two freestone tribs that enter in Confluence.

One more addition for SWPA, West Branch Susquehanna River at Bower, PA - USGS-01541000. The Upper West Branch is a developing class A brown trout fishery.

I had you in mind as I was picking and choosing the Youghiogheny.

In General: known streams, Special Regs, and locations with water temps were preferred
Then the E Br Brandywine presents you with a “pickle.” If you eliminate the lower site well below Downingtown, you lose a water temp site, but it’s a warmwater stream at that point anyway.

If you eliminate the upper site anglers are losing the flow info for the stocked DH Area and for the stocked section below it that extends into the park within Downingtown.

Not sure were you are number-wise but this Sinnemahoning gauge is valuable because represents the river after the first gork dumps in.

Sinnemahoning Creek at Sinnemahoning, PA - USGS-01543500

Gonna keep both. That's the beauty of making choices and not absolutes.

Small functional and operational changes made to the page. Toggle arrows for the regions allowing easier access to open or close the six regions. Some improvements for mobile users. Changes to the Tend view.

Probably ready to drop this into its own page today.

Sounds like you are a big fan of that river. As a large warm water freestone I have never heard of anyone on this site discuss it as location to fly fish? I drive past it to go to the trout streams?

Girty's is where i'd run down to to get "flooding" vids, after a big storm, when I worked at Fox53 on the hill above. 🤣

Here is a Beta version of the new USGS Real-Time Water Conditions for Pennsylvania. Still plenty of work but a reasonable start.
