pH: 7.5 - 7.6
Bugs: size 18 sulphurs, size 12 march browns size 14 slate drakes, size 14 dark blue sedges, 1" crawfish, midges
Water Clarity: clear

Decided to hit my not-so-secret spot tonight, guessing there would be no one to share the water. I guessed wrong...two different cars showed up, poked their head around for a bit, but never got a line wet. Too bad...
Fish weren't taking anything on the surface, so started 1/4 mile downstream and worked up with an olive bugger, bouncing it along the bottom like a scooting craw in every little break and pool I could find. No takers.

Something was coming off the water, because the fish starting going beserk. Tried a dry sulphur. No takers.
Tried a dry slate drake. No takers.
Tried a dark blue sedge. SMACK!
Only had two sedges on me tonight. Need to tie more for this week.
Total fish: 13 in the span of 90 minutes out of a stretch of creek that frequently gets passed over without a thought (as evidenced by the two cars that only stopped to look).
Lessons learned tonight:
1. Don't forget my headlamp, or else I'd STILL be catching fish.
2. Losing your balance and falling to your knees in one foot of water isn't that bad.
3. Why is it so hard to tie a good knot in broad daylight, but it's easily done in the dark?
4. Fish every nook and cranny, even if the water is only a foot deep.
