I fished the Muncy Creek for the first time this past weekend. I had planned to fish Loyalsock and Lycoming Creeks, but I was impressed with the Muncy and decided to fish there two days in a row. Large streamers were working well in the afternoons. There were a few sulphurs coming off in the evenings. Both days the slate drakes came off in good numbers. The one night the march brown duns and spinners were the ticket. I only picked up about 14 trout over 9 hours of fishing the Muncy Creek; however, I was teaching a friend how to fly fish and he managed to catch two on the dry fly. Considering it was his first time fly fishing, I was pleased that he was able to bring a few to hand. I was very impressed with the stream, but the water was low and crystal clear.
