Bugs: #12 march browns, #16 sulphurs, #22 midges (white and black), #16 apple caddis, #14 Grey Fox (possible Hendricksons)
Water Clarity: stained
Water Depth: 2 feet to 8 feet
Fantastic evening of fishing. Fish started rising at dusk, approximately 2000 hours, and violently taking some of the biggest March Browns I've ever seen. Truly magical for this stream.
Also, some of the flies were not pink-bodied, but magenta/hot pink body. I can't remember if they were caddis or not, but paired with the occasional similar grey mayfly hatching makes me wonder if it is a small Hendrickson hatch.
Also lots of small apple caddis hatches. They became a cloud with the March Browns sometime around 2100.
Fished with an old-timer and split the creek between us. I didn't have any dries and did better before the hatch on weightless subsurface soft hackles, while he did better once the hatch started.

Water Depth: 2 feet to 6 feet
The water significantly cleared the day after, and right on time with 2000 hours, the fish started taking March Browns again on the surface. This time I armed myself with some large rusty spinners and did okay on the surface, but there was so many flies for the fish to take that getting hit was luck of the draw.
Also, I took note that on the creekside rocks that #12-14 black stonefly-shaped bugs sitting on them, recently hatched and drying off for a hatch probably tomorrow or this weekend. If I had to guess, they're probably the Dark Blue Sedges.
