Water Depth: 2 feet or less

Fished here for a few hours into dark. Not much surface action happening, so just kept to nymphing and stream cleanup from the swarm of opening season fishers. Current nymphs in the stream are plentiful with caddis, and an unidentified #22 sowbug-like rock clinger. The occasional red quill did fly around before the high winds from a rainstorm came in to blow the surface off.

Fish are still plentiful from the early season stocking.

Several times driving by this section I have witnessed people fishing bait off the bridge, the section is clearly marked and I know fishermen who were checked here by the wco after the early season stocking. I used to really enjoy the lower 1/2 of this section but the big hole in the middle has mostly filled in with substrate and below that to Tivoli the stream seems much shallower without as much established pocket water as years past.

I’d agree. Pretty sure my presence that night sent four trucks full of fishermen somewhere else. They sent a scout out, he spotted me, and they all promptly left.

Fished this section week of 5/7. Fish piled up directly under the bridge.
Moved after 2 spinner fishermen proceeded to cast over my line. One above me and one below me. Did not see or have any action below the bridge.

I think I was there with you! Were you fishing that pool with the orange line? If so, I was the flyguy under the bridge working the bottom of the same pool. The spinner guys pushed me out too, that's why I left early.
