Muncy creek 11/4

The clearest water I have ever personally seen in Pa comes from Muncy creek. I am able to zoom on this shot and see the pebbles on the bottom of this hole that is over my head. There were 8 trout in this hole that were spooked instantly. The water reminds one of a quarry that filled in after hitting a spring.

Rainbows aren't my preferred trout (except Big and Falling springs) but they were the ones willing to take as we went to the DHALO section about 7 miles downstream of Sonestown. This was the largest on a Clouser crayfish, but they were hitting on tan caddis and midges. Mostly fresh stockies.

My nephew was able to up his total to 5 trout so far hes caught on flies. He no longer squeezes them till their eyes pop out and is starting to understand tangles and frustration is part of the game. I believe whats getting him past it is how grateful he is when he finally gets one on. 7 total and enough there to get me to stop if I was in the area.

Where is this fishing spot on Muncy? I live in Lewisburg and would like to give this a try!

From the bridge on 118 (in hugesville) up stream is decent.
There is a DHALO in Trivoli, above picture rocks. (probably your best bet this time of year.
The stream gets pretty low in the summer, and I personally never caught a wild fish out of muncy or little muncy (which follows 118 to Lairdsville.

The DHALO section never used to be there when I fished it more often and I used to fish the very upper reaches of the Muncy where there are quite a few natives. All I can tell you is I got on 220 near Williamsport and about 7 miles before you get to Sonestown the DHALO will be on your right with a very low-height metal grate bridge. There is an occasional bruiser brown and they appeared wild, but tore off when I could finally get in position to cast. Didnt see any natives till I was upstream of Sonestown.
