Multi species fun on Pickering creek

Had some fun figuring out the fish at the hole at the old dam. I imagine they see all lot of action as it's very close to the road and they really made me work for it ( smart lil fish ) . Couldn't get them on a dry then cycled through few different wet flys sizing down as I went and nothing. Finally put a Walt's on and started moving them , they were fierce when hooked , lost both big smallies I hooked .

There's not much of that type of warmwater stream fishing around here. The streams are too over-run with trout.

Hole at the old dam,,,can’t figure out if I know where this is? Nice catches, always reminds me of starting out FFing. I try to do this kind of fishing a few times a year. Bonus when you don’t have to suit up with gear and just catch some fish.

I know this spot. Live 5 minutes away. Stinks the pickering isn’t stocked in fall anymore.

Not yet. Maybe we could have some bluegill hatcheries.

maybe 🤔 they could stock some more blue
herons in your area also ?

They can do a 5 year study, get all kinds of data, public input, then do what they want to do not matter what the science/ data says.
