Took my two boys (9&10) fishing on Muddy yesterday after helping the MCTU crew stock brown trout eggs in vibert incubators (for lack of a better term).
Fished the Mann Property weir field using a size 12 tungsten bead head olive on the tail and a #14 march brown (unweighted) on the dropper -caught 2 stream-raised browns 8 and 10 inches. Both took the dropper. Skies clear and 50F. Water very clear with a nice fullness. Water temp 44F. Both fish were caught between 2 and 3pm. Tremendous stream and great organization (MCTU). we hope to hit the fly stretch next week to try for the rainbows recently stocked by the PAFBC. BTW, we stocked 40,000 eggs. We were wondering if the 8-inch brown might be one of the eggs we stocked last fall. Thanks Maurice. JB
