Muddy Creek, York County May 25, 2016

Fished the open water low on the watershed from Noon to about 4:30P. Water flow was good with nice, green color in the holes and deep riffles. Met some fisherman coming out. Based on what they told me I walked quite a way down to start below where they fished.

Did ok using pheasant tails, sulfur nymphs, wet flys and buggers. Not many bugs or rises. Took one riser putting a sulfur wet in front of him. Had another riser I couldn't get. Did best with a bugger either swinging, drifting or stripping. Lifted a bunch of rocks and found many mayfly nymphs along with some stoneflys.

Kudos and many thanks to the Muddy Creek crew that feeds and stocks. Those browns are beefy, feisty and spread out really well.

My son and I fished about 1/4 mile upstream from bottom parking lot this evening . Fish were loving the Conehead Marabou Muddler in Olive. Only saw a few fish rising and that was early around 5pm. Muddy Creek TU did put some nice browns in. Last week they were tearing up green wooly buggers. I'm heading up in deeper tomorrow morning. Besides catching trout we caught blue gills, bass and suckers 🙂
