Made it over to Muddy Creek to the special regs section around noon. Was fortunate to run into another site member SamIAm in the parking lot. Had a real good conversation before heading out on the stream.
The weather today was one of the better days of spring so far with clear sunny skies, air temps about 55, water temps at about 45 and the water was running clear.
A sporadic hatch of small stoneflies were coming off the water during the afternoon. Found a few trout by the hemlocks rising, nothing I could hook into. Moved upstream and took on the faster water and had some luck with some bead head zebra nymphs.
I tried streamers and woolly buggers without any luck. In talking with a few other anglers they did have luck with the wooly buggers earlier in the morning.
Very nice afternoon glad to get out.
