Muddy Creek, York County - 4/12/15

Arrived at about 9:30 in the morning. Still some frost on the ground walking in, but the sun was out and about 45 degrees. Water was very clear and low at about 48 degrees (checked it twice).

The morning warmed up pretty quickly and a great day to get out on the water. Walked up stream and hit the big rock. Had the place to myself for the most part. Worked a black woolly buggers for a while, but only had chasers. Caught a few on a small beadhead nymph as I went up stream. Saw a couple risers and threw on a caddis dry with no luck for few holes on the way back down stream. Ended back at the big rock trying a couple different colored woolly buggers and lucked out with my original black WB.

Want to thank all the hard work everyone at Muddy Creek TU does in the way of stocking and helping make sure there is access for this stream.

Sounds like your day yesterday was similar to mine on Saturday. I just wanted to echo your comments on Muddy Creek TU. They've done a great job, especially with access to that stretch of stream.

Knew we should have fished Muddy. Prof myself and my son fished Fishing Creek not far from the Robert Fulton Fire Company in Peach Bottom PA Lancaster County. Like you said the morning was cold. 49 degrees which necessitated keeping on the fleece vest. Water temp was 47.3 degrees at 10:30 but warmed up to 54.7 by 1PM. Sunny cloudless day. We fished a section in Drumore Township but there was an ongoing boy scout clean up going on resulting in tons of leaves being raked into the stream. It was like fishing in October Hooking so many leaves we had to fish upstream. Prof and I were skunked but my son got two browns. My Fit Bit says we walked 3.5 miles.

Went the other week. Fishing was slow, water cold. Fish were biting light. Lots of misses a few hook ups.

I should head back now that its warming up. I'm already hooked on bass though.

I would agree. Nice morning, but only saw the recently stocked fished. All in all a nice morning.
