Fished bruce rd. down from 11am - 4pm. Overcast upper 40 air temp. water temp. 38F. Water was low and clear. Had a couple hits on buggers but didn't manage to hook them. Saw one fish clearly and I'm sure it was a wild brown about 8". Around 1pm the stockies started rising regularly. Didn't see anything but midges hatching. Didn't feel like fishing midges today so I tied on a BWO instead. The stockies were hitting my bwo hard. must have had 10-15 fish take my fly but was only able to hook up with one. It was really tickin me off. not sure why I couldn't hook them today. I couldn't feel my fingers due to the cod so that may have had something to do with it. 😳 Another guy came by and as he was walking past me on the bank he spooked a huge turkey that flew across the river and ran up the opposite bank. Saw a bald eagle today too. Would have been a spectacular day if I could have landed most of the fish that fell for the fly.
