Another wonderful day in the special regs area. First time for me this year! LOL
I caught a few browns and one rainbow. I saw a couple rise for midges, but I couldn't get them to take my offering. The bigger browns hit a black dub bugger. Check out that big brown taken on a 3wt. The rest came on a #16 Hare's Ear.
The creek is still way too shallow. I talked to a couple others fishing there, and they agreed the lack of snow and too much water consumption upstream is drying this beautiful creek up.
There still might be hope after all...... check out the pic of a beaver chopping down trees. About midway down the special regs area and about 50' from the water.
Maurice, did you also stock a couple beavers to build a dam in the shallow creek? I say "great idea"
The ice is almost gone...... and so are the stinkin' leaves. With the iceburgs and leaves in the water on Wed, it was almost impossible to fish.
The water level dropped several inches from Wed to today, Friday. What is going on!! It's still Feb. The water should be full to the banks now.
Nice stones in the bottom parking area.
Longrods forever

What's going on? We need rain since we haven't had much snow this winter. All of the creeks and waterways could use a good shot right now...

Nice winter brown. Im guessing you were between the wires?
Love muddy creek, just a great place and I hope it continues. We have people to thank for taking such good care of it.

Im ok with a tree or two into the water, but I've seen what beaver dams can do in potter county. brutal to any creek in my opinion.

Nice catch. thanks.
Ill be getting down there in a week or so.

I think the water levels will be fine. Seems everytime we dry out, its gods way of preparing us for some plentiful rainfall in the spring.

Pool,

Yea, it was between the two wires.
This just might be God's way to make the creeks rise......... there is a lot of snow on the ground now!
I love that stream, and some here keep it the wonderful paradise it is. I'm not complaining at all. It's just when the creek is so shallow, the trout all bunch up in the couple pools that are over a foot deep.
