Fished the Muddy alone for the first time since the summer. I always like to sample the surviving pops before fall stockings. This time I tried outside the FFO area. But I still gotta get there before Oct 10 when it gets stocked once again.
Water temp was 65.5 when I started at 2:30 pm. Hoped to fish til dark but knew of impending storms even though there was nothing on the radar. I ventured away from the car with an upstream game plan based on the clear low water.
In two hours of fishing I landed three (below) and missed, turned or hooked and lost around 5-6 others. Then the rain came. Chased me out, soaked to the bone. Rode home in clear skys, bare chested. (shoulda stuck it out under a tree or something, coulda fished longer)
I gotta put a poncho on my pack one of these days, getting ridiculous that I keep getting soaked through stupidity.
