I was there today it was still high but clearing. Tomorow it will fish but Tuesday will be better I think. I salvaged the day by going to tribs and picked up about a dozen wild browns on buggers.
Someone is gonna have a ball this week there when the conditions present.

Fished Muddy for about an hour after work yesterday. Tried Black and Olive woolys but no luck but the fish love to hit my bright pink indicator. To late to switch to a dry and really didnt see any fish rising. Water was clearing up but moving pretty swift. Fished the section up stream from the Piney Hill parking area.

Fished muddy creek for the first time today. Beautiful piece of water. Caught 4 medium sized browns where the big oak was hanging out. Met a gentleman from the muddy creek TU group. they were out stocking today.... All in all a good day can't wait to make it back up there soon.
Fished just below Woodbine on Tuesday afternoon Oct. 16 for about 2 hours. Caught 2 streamborn browns 8 and 10 inches. Air temp. about 65F, water temp 58F, partly cloudy, water a bit high and very slightly colored. Very nice conditions. Used a march brown bh spider #10 with a march brown flymph dropper #12

Same as you. 1 -10" wild brown. And about a million leaves. IN an hour..that has to be a record. Oh and my line broke 30 ft in and I tied a splice into it with some 1x tippet. What a miserable time stripping that through the guides.
But on a happy note, I enjoyed meeting you too.

I stopped in this afternoon for a short time and fished up from the Piney Hill Road parking area. Almost took home the skunk. The leaves were a real issue. The entire water column was full of them. I did manage to catch one of the newly stocked rainbows (about 13-14") on a size 8 Picket Pin. Didn't even see a brown. Water temp was 53 degrees. The bite was definitely off this afternoon.

A lot of the bows usually end up somewhere from the big rock hole upstream in the faster stretch.

I found a pile of them in a slow deep pool and snuck up on them and hit them on the head with red hots. Got about 6, missed a few too. Almost no drift. It became a zen thing. They were not there last week....

I noticed that before on Muddy. I have a few favorite spots up past big rock and through "S" as I call it. Sometimes I find them in a school and other times I have to pick all the pockets to get the money.
Here's how my day goes on my from the bottom up.
In the pines, "the pines" where are he sun don't ever shine (far bank) a trout would shiver on my line. Then I hit the upper hemlock run, skip most of the next stretch. Fish from below the big rock up though the "S" to beaver rock. Take a break, head up to Tom's then if the fishing is good continue to upper wire hole. Bad day I turn around and try a different approach.
