Fished with Dave Kile today on lower Muddy after a brief thunderstorm. Water was very clear before and became a little colored throughout the evening. Water temperature was 68 degrees, air temp 75-80.
after a long walk in we fished began with a dry and a bugger, Landed a small wild brown in the first run on the dry while Dave fished above with a bugger. After no rises I switched to a bugger and landed a couple fish, one a nice rainbow shown below. Ad the clouds cleared the light becam angelic as it streamed through the trees. It was very picturesque.
We plucked a few trout with buggers waiting for some sort of bug activity. We saw saome caddis and a couple sulfurs, a slate drake or two, a few bwos and at the end a nice spinner fall but couldn;t land any fish as we go to the riffle we wanted to fish a little late, sorry Dave.
Dave stalked a riser in the photo below and while missing the first one, picked up the second one a few yards above in some glassy water.
A nice time with our humble leader who allowed me to outfish him. But hey, its my home water....until next time.
