I fished the lower half of the special regs today for a change. Managed to land only two brown trout. I caught both of them on Buggers. There were stone flies and midges coming off the water. I lost a few other trout. I saw a very large trout in one location which had a lot of color to it. I also spoke with a conservation officer today when I arrived. He had hidden his truck and was standing atop the large rock outcrop down by the bridge tucked in behind some small pines overlooking the water. He seemed interested in the area down below the wire and a car or two parked across the way on the other side of the stream. He was a real talker as he looked through his binoculars, talkin' about how he fishes on his days off just to find where people violate, why do so many people pull in to that pullin' and then just sit there, have you seen people spinfishing here ever, and finally "oooh yeah, Maryland tags, maybe they'll toss a soda can out the window". Other than that we were both staring down at the trout in the pool poking at the surface. Funny thing is they were all hitting the surface right there but that pool is out of season.
