I fished the "special regs" area today from 4pm until 5pm.
Thanks Maurice for the stocking info and thanks Leaky for the report and directions.
It's a beautiful gem of a stream, but like all the rest...... it's way too shallow. We just had a lot of rain and maybe the creek came up a little, but all the streams are low in PA. I'm starting to think that the feeder springs are slowing down.
I caught one nice bow, about 13" and one chub about 5" I had another hit, but I couldn't hookup.
Both fish were caught on a leadeye woolybugger size 10 and black.
It was simply a wonderful day for me. I didn't see anyone else. Very comfy with chest waders and thick socks. This creek is easy to wade through.
My first trout in a long time!!

Hey wooly bugger that's a nice looking catch there,but the reason I am replying is to inform you that I recognize those pictures as the very bottom of the special regulations area which extends roughly 1.9 or 2 miles upstream of where you hooked that fish. Pay no mind to those posted signs upstream, they are only for the fenced in garden back aways from the stream. I believe that some anglers see this and it turns them around. But there is a walking path that goes a long way up the creek. And along the old B&O railroad grade. There is a deep hole or two up there that always sucks me in. I never seem to hook one there, but can't help myself fishing it anyway. I am going to guess that you probably parked off the road to the left just above where you caught your Bow Bow. I always park at the other designated spot upstream along the dirt road about 200 yds or so. It is marked with regs signs as well and there is definately a stream corridor there for you to wander as far upstream as your hearts content. I usually have the best luck along the far bank under the hemlocks where the water is deepest. It's kind of like fishing the Breeches at Allenberry but only the water is thinner and going in the wrong direction. And yes the water is a little bit low. I would like to say that if you take the drive to Bruce Rd. at the upper end of special regulations you will find that the water is deeper the creek is narrower and there is mor moving water everywhere. Also right smack in beetween, about a mile or so up or downstream in beetween upper and lower access points is a significant feeder stream, Tom's Run. Next time you go travel lite and put a little "Exploratoration into your Strategery" and you might have more picture opportunities. Now if my camera didn't have so many damn megapixels maybe I could upload some of my pictures. That's all, not tellin any more secrets today.

Most anglers today won't say anything. I guess they think I'll come back with a net or a fish spear!!
