Mountain Creek, 1/7/2008

After stopping at the Breeches and seeing about a dozen fresh trout and maybe 2 dozen fresh anglers I went over to Mountain creek just to fart around on a beautiful day. Trying underneath was drawing some looks only but I noticed some sipping action and saw one lone black stonefly. By the time I left I took 5 small trout on top. Not a big day but pretty cool for a freestone on Jan 7th.
Its always nice to get them on top and it had been awhile.

Nice. Been a while since I've been there. Not too frozen over I gather? Sal and I were talking about going back there soon.

Wasn't a lick of ice to be seen as I threw my #16 black stonefly.

Mountain creek has been lookin pretty nice noticing on way out to hikes...the breeches is prime but fish are acting strange more wary than normal for this time of year...
