Fished Montour Creek last Sunday and had a blast. Lots of nice fish in the creek. Water was clear but had a nice flow to it. All in all, landed 8 and missed a few more. The key to finding the takers was to fish the heads of the pools where there was ample current flow. Fish were just sitting there and picking off nymphs as they floated by. Caught the majority of mine on a size 14 black stonefly nymph. Stoneflies are my go-to nymph for cold and clear water in the fall. Fish were between 11 and 14 inches and were nice and healthy. And the best part is I never saw one damn person on the stream! Here are some pics!
Tight lines to all.
