Missing rod tube cap

My son and I where fishing the upper section of Big Bushkill Creek in Monroe County. My rod tube cap was misplaced or fell off my truck. If found it is a zone TNT rod cap sn 175616. IF found I will pay shipping costs. Thanks

Three things:

1. Assuming you were fishing the Boy Scout Property, give the Ranger's Office a call at 570-223-8312. Somebody MAY have found it and turned it in at the office.​

​

2. Call T&T about a replacement, maybe even one with the serial # inscribed.​

​

3. How was the fishing? 😉​

If it makes you feel any better, I once lost the tip section of a BRAND NEW Winston rod walking down to the creek with my rod unstrung. I learned THAT lesson the hard way...

I always move the vehicle out of the parking spot and get out and look over the vehicle and ground before traveling home.
I dropped a fly rod and reel from the roof onto the road(scratched up the reel real good along with the reel seat) leaving 30+ years ago due to being in a hurry to make it home.
It is very easy to be in a rush to get home and lose your reel, fly box, rod or clothing.

Yep already emailed TNT. Fishing was slow in mourning. About three o’clock fish started feeding on surface. Finished the day strong. Thanks.

FWIW - I have a couple of steadfast rules when getting ready or packing up after fishing because of the folks I've known who lost/left behind rods (rod tube caps 😉), reels, wading shoes, walkie talkie mics, wading staffs, hats; you name it because they don't follow an unwavering routine.

Luckily, I benefited from their misfortune and never left anything behind...

My most important rule is, get down to business BEFORE doing anything that can distract or impair me which means refraining from kibitzing with others or having a beer until I am fully rigged or packed.

When getting ready, the next to last thing I do is string up my rod and get it out of harms way. I made a special magnetic rod holder that I attach to the driver's door just for this purpose. Then I make sure nothing is left outside of the car and any unnecessary/unneeded stuff is put back where it belongs before closing any doors or hatches.

The LAST thing I'll do is have a beer before heading out to fish, get the rod out of the holder and toss the holder and the empty beer can in the back of the car and go fishing.

When I am done fishing, the FIRST thing I do without distraction is break down my rod & reel and PUT THEM AWAY safely. Then I put the rest of my gear away and walk around the car to make sure nothing is left behind before engaging in any small talk or having a beer.

I don't know how much experience you have up there, but a Little Black Stonefly adult (which in my fly box is just a size 12 or 10 Elk Winged Caddis with a black body) is deadly.

However the trick is to twitch or skate it across the surface, even if you aren't seeing rises TO stoneflies or even rises for that matter.

I've had MANY 20 - 30 fish days up there with stoneflies...
