Looking for help. I have a 3 piece (now 2) BPS 8 ft 6, 6 wt fly rod (C 8663 #6 line 02 G is on the handle) that's "missing" the tip piece. The rod is in great shape, but it is fairly old. I love the rod. Of course, BPS was no help, they told me to buy a new one. Any chance someone could build me the top piece at a decent price? I really don't want to trash the rod. I can send a picture of the other 2 pieces to match the blank/ winding colors. Thanks.

Call and ask for advice about what you need they may be your best bet and suggest whom you could contact to do a repair.
Tips on a vintage flyrods are very hard to build. You may be better off purchasing a new rod there are bunch out there for less than $300. They are better than the top of the line rods built 20 years ago.

If you just want the top it really wouldn’t be worth it I would just get a custom rod built. You might be able to find something on hook and hackle or send a message to them they are some good guys and have really helped me out.
I've purchased some from this guy.
Maybe something in his selections would be appealing?
The emphasis is on bamboo, but scroll down on his page and click on the "fly fishing rod" box and it has a significant listing of used rods.
Glass and graphite and bamboo.
P.S. I don't get any personal benefit from suggesting this possible source of used rods. I used it and was satisfied. At any rate, it's a fun site to check out.

It's virtually impossible to find a true replacement tip for old, budget-brand graphite rods. Even big name rods are hard to get blanks for after they hit a certain age.
