Fished meadow run Saturday morning to shake off the cabin fever. Started off flushing a grouse on my way in, which caught me by surprise. I knew the creek hadn't been stocked since October so I was t sure what to expect. The water level was a bit high, and a bit dirty. There was ice and slush breaking off and flowing downstream making for some interesting drifts. I also noted what appeared to be stone flys crawling on the snow covered boulders. I fished for about two hours before picking up a fat and pretty rainbow. It was laying under a huge sheet of ice. I walked back upstream to a hole that was occupied earlier and hooked into a brown. I went about another two hours and picked up a skinny looking rainbow. Probably ten to twelve people on the entire stretch, and ohiopyle was surprisingly busy as well as I stopped in town for a burger. I was pretty happy to find a few fish this early especially with the first stocking delayed due to snow. Photos to come after work.....
