I got out early on Meadow this morning. There were some bugs comming off, but not many risers. Water temp was 60 degrees. I caught fish on a Copper John, Green Weenie, San Juan Worm, and one on an Adams dry. Caught my biggest trout ever. 21 1/2 inches and about 5 pounds. The camera phone doesn't do it justice. My heart was racing for about 45 minutes after releasing that beauty.

That fish is either dying of starvation or spawned out within the last week. I doubt it is 5 lbs based on how skinny it is....but it does look long...and that at one time it was over 5 lbs.

Look at the position of the ventral fin. It looks like it's position accomodated a lot more wright at one time.

Which fly did yo get him on Albie? And did she fight hard?

She gave me a nice jump on the first run, clean out of the water. She didn't take me out of the hole I hooked her in on 5X tippet. I'd have to say the fish isn't doing so well without pellets.

Let see who can guess what fly this fish took.
