Got out today for my first trip of the year. Air temps were high 30's, as were water temps. First time fishing Meadow Run, but the flows seemed ideal with a light green tint.

Fished for a few hours between 1pm to 5pm. I saw 9 or 10 other fishermen, about 50/50 fly gear vs. spin gear...

Didn't have much action until i switched to a reddish brown, gold bead stonefly nymph. Caught 2 rainbows on that. Had an LDR earlier in the day on a green weenie, after trying a few other nymphs before that (copper john, prince, walt's worm, PT)

Talked to a guy on the way out, and his only fish was on a stonefly nymph as well, and that was at the recommendation of someone he talked to while fishing, to try the stoneflies. Guess that was the fly of the day for the stocked rainbows...

Was nice to get out and the sun shining made it worth it, even if temps were below normal...
