I got out early Saturday morning on Meadow. Air temps in the mid 30s, didn't check the water, but it was very cool. The water was low and clear and the fish were spooky. I caught one rainbow about 8 inches long (maybe its from the fingerling stocking in the Yough?) and another beautiful rainbow all dressed up in spawning colors (I'll post a pick Monday when I can get it off my phone). Both these fish came on egg patterns.
Headed over to Laurel Hill next. Similar conditions, low and clear and cool. I couldn't intrest these fish in eggs, so I tried a micro beadhead green weenie. That was the ticket. I managed several nice rainbows and one brown.
It was great to be out on the streams on a brisk fall morning. The fall foilage was probably as nice as it will be this year.
