I had a few hours to fish this morning on Meadow Run. The water was down to fishable levels, but the high water mark from earlier this week was unreal. Lets just say the fish should be spread out real well.
I arrived around 7:30 AM and I was the first one on the stream. I had luck with egg patterns and streamers. I probably had more hits with the streamer, but I probably only hooked a third of the fish that hit my streamer. I switched back and forth between the two techniques and picked up the occaisional fish all morning, including a couple decent rainbows. The feeding fish seemed to be in riffles or pocket water. I had little luck in the deeper pools.
I did see one rise this morning. It won't be long and we'll be fishing dries on freestone streams too.
