Anyone have a wrap that would make a good Hellgramite body? Does anyone have any experience? I don't want those punched-out Ultrasuede things. I wanted to NOT do a big dubbing loop with groundhog. Isn't there something with like rubber tenticles?

I'm with @tztrout - Hareline Squishenille is my go-to.

If you're looking for a more lifelike pattern, using goose biots as legs similar to a Kaufmann Stonefly on an extended shank might be the ticket.

They're a chore to tie, at least for me, so I prefer the easier method of just wrapping the Squishenille.

That Creeper Chenille looks like the stuff. Thanks. I was looking through their stuff but didn't see this.

I've had a lot of success using a zonker strip as the body for a hellgrimite fly as well as a stonecat (madtom) fly as shown below:
