Got out there pretty early it was still drizzling I was hoping it would stop soon after I arrived but it took a couple hours. I was nymphing around with no luck & getting eaten ALIVE by the mosquitos. Almost called it quits & on my way to the car it started to clear up. I headed to an open spot with not many trees above to see if anything was rising, few rises here & there so I threw on a grffiths gnat & missed 3 fish within 15 minutes. Finally landed a nice brown probably about 16" or so on the griffiths. It calmed down a little after that & I ran into an old guy ive seen a few times before, we talked for a little bit and he headed up stream. I fished a few different set ups and noticed quite a bit of stonefly action so I threw one on, got a few bites but nothing was hammering it so I decided to move up a little bit. Saw a couple hog's lurkin in some slower deeper water, looked like they were chasing some minnows around so I tried a streamer out for a little bit but still nothing. By that time the old man was walkin back down & we talked for a little while, and while doing so the rises started up again, I must have lost all my ant patterns in the tree's so he let me at one of his. Second cast brought a 15-16" rainbow, he also hooked up with a 10" or so rainbow but by then I was about ready for some lunch so I headed home.

Was there a couple days ago with a friend and the griffiths was killing em once again, not much of any hatches going on (either days) or I would have tried to match but I figured i'd throw it in there. He was using a wet fly of some sorts and did pretty well too. Not much consistency on this stream it seems, just keep tryin till they slam something!
