Went to Marsh creek after work today looking for crappie. i searched most of the cove area off little conestoga rd looking for crappie but only turned up yellow perch and sunnies. just before leaving i swallowed my pride and crowded in with all the guys around the bridge. I caught 4-5 crappie in about 10 casts. I probably caught about 20 fish total, mostly small perch. All fish were caught on a small white marabou jig under a thingabobber. I didn't have a thermometer but the water felt like it was in the upper 40s. The water in the lake is still low which i think might be why the crappie are so concentrated. Panfish, lots of fun on a 4wt.

The real question is how do you pronounce crappie - crappy, crap-pie or crop-pee?

This fish could definitely benefit from a new name.

icey - i have made a spring stop at that spot for years and always had fun with long rod. Got some funny looks whipping the flyrod around but always had fun. Underrated imho...
