Manada Creek & Clarks Creek Dauphin Co 11/18/09

Fished Manada for two hours this morning , quite low , very clear and not that much flow, managed two nice rainbows on Frank Sawyers Killer Bug, no surface activity at all......I then moved to Clarks Creek FFO section downstream from the gun club , again quite low ,very clear and no surface activity. I saw many trout just resting on the bottom very inactive and not responding to anything apart from a couple of follows on a white bugger. On my way back to the car I dropped into a hole I had never fished before as I could see a fair sized trout charging around...to cut a long story short , I cast the white bugger caught a nice brookie which the big one followed after I released the brookie I tried again , no more follows , switched to a glo bug and he hit it straight away , put up a great fight and I netted my biggest Clarks brown , just over 20 inches! :-D

Sounds like a very nice Clarks brown. Sorry I didn't make it, just not quite ready yet...soon getting better!

Went to the racetrack instead, that was a big mistake 😢

I noticed the same thing last Saturday, trout laying on the bottom like suckers. Almost thought they were until one came to surface to hit a midge. Lost a bunch of flies in the trees again. Definitely keeping Tiemco in business there. Bummed that I haven't found the the mythical titans of Dehart Dam. I have caught some big fish below the dam. A few weeks ago I landed a nice 18 incher which might have been wild as the fins were not bent. I love this creek more and more.

Did you see any redds? I would suspect that the trigger for the browns to move up is temperature driven. With the mild temps we have been having it could be delayed.
Kee in mind I have no experience with this lake spawning thingy.

Maurice, the only place I have seen redds on Clarks this season is on the old sawmill section upstream from slut hole that area that Paul G likes...there is a really good redd there.
