Arrived 6:00 a.m. Tuesday and there was plenty of mist on the river. Went up river and threw streamers until the mist burned off and had seven boils, six hooked fish and four landed 15"-18". Quit about 8:30 and had a project at my camp that took most of the entire day. Went out at 6:00 p.m. and never saw a rise worth casting to. Wednesday my buddy and I floated from Shehawken to Buck. Lots of rising fish, to Tricos, at Bard Parker, but we arrived late and only got into about one half hour fishing. Hooked one each and lost both.
Thursday and Friday we wade fished and while we saw good numbers of Trico spinners every day and a couple of pods of rising fish we were unable to get a single rise after two hours of casting #22- #24 spinners on 7X tippets.
The flow, imo, on the WB is not adequate for pleasant, or productive, fly fishing. It was between 570 & 600 cfs the entire four days. Too low to really do any nymph fishing anywhere near my cabin and so little current that the fish that did rise had too much time to look over my fly. I went up to Deposit at Norbord, Barking Dog, and Hale Eddy and never saw a rise or any insect activity. The water at Lordville hit between 70 & 72 everyday. I wouldn't go up unless you have nothing better to do and you won't mind not having good fishing.
