Found myself perk up as I hit exit 74 just in time to see the sun rise and shortly after stream side picking threw a mess of thorns to get to a small stream that is as slippery as the come , wondering if I had lost my mind , I only remembered the fish a caught here and not the cost ! After a half hour got into a pod of rock bass and a few fall fish .

The thick algae and hip high water was not as warm as anticipated as I made my way slowly upstream , blind casting with a purple / olive bugger . I hit a pair of smallies , not big but on the right track and giving hope .

After another 2 hours I strip set on a good smallie ( for me anyway !) and after a few runs on the reel , brought it to hand . What a rush !

Worth it !!!!

BTW - Did you know Paul Winchell (AKA D!ck Dastardly) had medical training and became one of the first people to patent a mechanical artificial heart?

Dear Bamboozle,

No, I did not know that.

They say elephants never forget. As an elephant I tend to agree, hence the reference to Winchell Creek in my previous post to you.

The kiddies will never get our infatuation with mundane trivia, but it's worth a shot to post this to complete the circle.

"Jerry Mahoney" was carved by renowned puppeteer, ventriloquist dummy and marionette maker Frank Marshall who chose his career as a result of immobility, caused by polio...

If you own a "Marshall" ventriloquist dummy, you could easily cash it in for a a couple of Garrison's suitable for fishing on Winchell Creek...

No worries , honestly had no idea what jerry was so thought it might be a stream , turns out there is in fact a stream called jerry run that has a waterfall trail that looks amazing and I now know about it! was a win win .
