Lucky hats and other superstitions

Wow, this one REALLY went off the rails 🤣

(I'll stop derailing this thread now, you're welcome)

Mine is about leaving after a really good fish, or at least a change of venue if it's too early to go home, like I drove 3 hours and caught a 20 in the first 10 minutes.

No hat superstitious, I gave that up long ago. The hat does need to be comfortable or it’ll annoy me to distraction.

Last week I did however forget my lucky wading boots! I had to use a pair of hard rubber sole steel toed work boots. Tight, uncomfortable, and completely sucked. Ergo no fish were harmed on that outing.

I won't: do you read that meme in the voice of Kermit the Frog? 🤣🤣🤣

I honour Jack's memory, and Afish's remaining hair, by no longer overstaying my welcome in serious threads.

Look, I'll even be on topic: I have a hat. I wear it a lot. When the last one rotted off my head and duct tape could no longer repair it I bought a new one. So far, so good. Although I admit I don't remember where I put it last. It's not lucky very much, but the metacarpus bones that have been there for about 35 years might be. Well, probably not for the guy they belonged to first, but we can hope he lived a long and lucky life and is OK with his remains fueling my fishing luck. It's kind of like a Space Marine Dreadnought, but with less tortured husk and more voodoo.

Three of the most worn hats for the last two decades - I despise Yuengling light lager, but it is the most comfortable ball cap ever, the Guinness speaks for itself - both are semi retired the Cortland hat is the weapon of choice for most outings nowadays - honorable mentions for the ACU Fleece for cold weather, and the Multi-Cam Boonie for extreme sun protection - Mustad “brim hook” is also important as seen on the Cortland field exercise photo - I pulled it off my Dad’s favorite hat after he had passed and put it on mine … also, the pair of Streamers were tied when he passed with remnants in his materials box - one rests with him, the other travels with me
