1530 - World's End State Park Visitor's Center
Sunny, bluebird day with increasing cloud cover
Air Temp: 64F and cooling
Water Temp: 50F
Bugs: black stoneflies
Water Clarity: ultra-clear
Water Depth: 6-12 feet
Decided to get into the hang of casting, wading, balancing...you know, all those things you pros take for granted. Every time I decided to cast, God decided to send a gust of wind my way.
1630: Made friends with two stoneflies (size 18) that crawled onto my rock. I think the darker one's a black and the lighter colored one is a brown.
1645: Wind frustrated me, so I drove upstream (East) along Rt. 154 to the Double Run Nature Trail Entrance. Several baiters were there, so I just walked along creekside. A couple of fishermen came by me and warned me about crossing the creek...one of them had fallen in. They took their Philadelphia accents up the nature walk to do some "fishing in the mountains for some brookies". Neither of them had visible licenses.

Air temp: 60F and cooling
Water temp: 48F
Bugs: waterskippers
Water Clarity: ultra-clear
Water Depth: 3-8 feet
Fished under the namesake bridge for the better part of an hour in the rain practicing my throws. Got wet and cold.
Water for both streams was ultra-clear. I was able to count grains of sand in three feet of water and thought I spotted a huge nymph (as big as my thumbnail...size 10 hook?) crawling around. However, the streams are moving at a high clip, so I don't recommend wading in deeper than your knees.
