Loyalsock Creek: Sandy Bottom
Morning showers to afternoon sun/wind
Air Temp: 68F
Water Temp: 53.6F
Bugs: little black stoneflies, waterskippers, crawfish up to 5"
Water Clarity: ultra-clear
Water Depth: 3-wayyy over your head
1430: Never been here so I just walked around and got familiar with the area. Like a moron, I left my camera in the car.
1530: Stoneflies began skittering across the surface to the shore. Quite numerous too.
There was a bit of seasonal fishing traffic, but there's a couple miles of prime fishing water for everyone to share. It looks like the trick is to find your own spot and to know how the flood plain got cut from the spring floodings.
Also, cleaned up too much trash, some of it from flooding, but some also from fishermen. I couldn't fit the chair and the cushion in my car, so I left it at the info board with a note asking someone to take it home.
