Thought I'd take advantage of the longer daylight and sneak over for the evening rise last night. The water was low and clear, but still cold. I fished the DHALO section and was surprized to catch a wild brown of about 6.5 inches with par marks. Maybe he came from Mill Creek or the Mellon Estate upstream?

I observed many fish in the stream and a few of them were rising (maybe to midges of some sort). I must be out of practise with low and clear conditions, cause I didn't catch too many fish. Just the one stupid wild brown, the stockers were too smart for me.

Albatross- good for you man. Always nice to get on the water. I hear there are Drakes on the Loyalhanna but I have never seen them.

I saw very few mayflies last night, just the odd sulpher here and there. The fish didn't seem to be keying on them. I actually tried fishing an ant for a while with no success.

My neighbor was there on monday morning from 6 to 10...says he caught 16 all on hardware...
