Had a couple hours today so I fished the project. Tons of fish, not a lot of water. Rain helped Nada! Well, thats not totally true. One guy said it at least has a flow since the rain. Managed to get two 16-18 inch rainbows on micro egg pattern dropped under a elkhair caddis. Yeah, yeah, I resorted to fishing egg patterns. Its about 5 or 6 tiny craft store pom poms strung together then lashed to the hook, in orange. I had a few more takes on it but I was looking at all the damn fish! They're in there and they are pretty good sized. Looked like mostly rainbows. The really big one are chasing each other around in the tails of the pools that do have water. Pretty day...only saw a couple of caddis in addition to a sparse midges. Water temp about 65.

Tom,

We had to use eggs on Meadow Saturday as well. Don't feel bad...

All I saw on Meadow were rainbows as well (except for one breeder brown). Are the fish chasing each other just trying to establish a pecking order now that they have all been dumped in a new habitat?

Who knows...I see this in the same pool after every stocking. Must be a god pool if they are fighting over it I guess.

I picked up a few bows here this morning and a 10 inch brown that seemed like it may have been a wild fish down from Mill Run. A beautiful day to be out.

I learned to flyfish in the project water. Well, the first time anyway. I am still learning.
