Made the trek down to the DHALO section, near Ligonier and the 711 bridge, on Thursday. Weather was sunny, water was clear and slightly low, air temperature was about 70 according to my car's dash display. Fished from about 11 am to 3 pm, and I counted about four other anglers along the way.
Walked downstream about 300 yards from where I parked, down past the little trail bridge and the quiet pools, to one of my favorite spots, a nice long stretch with a deep riffle at the upper part. Fished a green beadhead, with a caddis emerger trailer, and caught about seven total, 4 browns and 3 rainbows, and missed a few more.
Also was some surface action, tan caddis' and mayflies, and a bunch of fish were rising in the slow pools, few were rising steady though. On a whim, decided to switch to a tan caddis later in the day, had 2 come up at my fly, but didnt catch any. Had alot of fun, and wanted to fish longer, but had some prior commitments that needed fufillment.
Overall, I'd have to say if you're looking for some good fishing in a pretty area that often gets overlooked, you should definately give it a try.
I'll post some pictures once I figure out how. Thanks!
