Fished from the bridge by Sleepy Hollow up from 7:30 till 9:30. Some caddis, heavy cream midge. Water muddy...from what i don't know there must be construction up stream. Fished up w/ a dry and only got minnows. Fished a buggar back down and picked up two rainbows.

Played in the outflow of the bridge and missed two good solid takes (it was dark) I would have loved to know what they were.

The water is warming up, only limestone, Yough or brookie streams for the rest of the summer for this kid.

Ryan, There are some nice smallies in the causeway outflow if that is where you are talking about. They hit hard...I catch more fish downstream of that actually...the rifles just below have produced trout on dry flies on occasion as well.

They had rain on Friday and Friday night. That is why the creek was muddy. Should have seen it on Saturday, high and chocolate colored. Was planning on fishing it Saturday morning, but got up later than I wanted then kept putting it off on leaving. Good thing I did or my mother would have seen me around 6 AM. She lives over the hill from the headwaters and said that they got hammered with the rain.

I usually fish in Latrobe for smallies, though may try the area immeadiately below Kingston. I think I am too old (and fat) to bridge jump any more.

My buddy Spehar works for the USGS and he said the area right by the guage is a primo spot. I have never been.

when the water is down the edges of those weed beds by the gauge is good...also that stretch that crosses from the eastbound to westbound side below the dam has been good in the past...best dry fly fishing for smaller browns is just above the biggest pool below that camp that hangs out over the river on the westbound side. There is a rock right in the middle of the creek there and you can cast in 360 degrees from there and catch fish...
