went up to cabelas for a new rod and a B day gift had time to burn so asked for a near by stream. went to the little sckuykill, never fished it befor some real nice deep pools and cool water. fished about an hour i cought 2 bows my dad cought 1 brown nice looking hold over fish 1 bow and brown were about 12 in the other about 15. all on fbpt nymph.

I have professional (fisheries manager) reasons for asking this. Three sections are stocked on the Little Schuylkill. Which one did you fish? Section 03 goes from Locust Creek downstream through Tamaqua to the confluence of Panther Creek. Farther downstream is the delayed harvest area section. And, finally, there is the section that goes through Port Clinton. My reason for asking is that the Port Clinton stretch usually gets too warm to carry fish through the summer, but this was no normal summer. The DH area holds some fish through the summer, but mainly at the mouth of a tributary. Finally, the Tamaqua stretch always holds fish. I would be interested in learning if you caught the fish in one of the typically warmer segments.

we fished the DH section near new new ringold but there were alot of fish in the main stream and water was cold.i saw about fifty fish swimming.

Marc, the stream reports title should include the county, if known, and the date fished. Also, information about fishing conditions such as flows, temperatures, clarity, weather, hatches observed, etc. should be included. It was a judgment call to leave this here, but your report barely qualifies. There are stickie notes at the top of the forum to explain the board owners desires for what qualifies as a proper stream report.

It isn't easy keeping up, so don't feel singled out if other posts/threads are equally lacking. I am just choosing yours as an example to alert other users as well.

We encourage stream reports, but ask that some helpful historical information on conditions be included to make the database more useful for folks searching for information on streams. Posts that don't contain at least some of this info may be placed in the Stream Locations or General forums and they may be moved by moderators if they don't satisfy the requirements.
