Fished the DHALO section of the Little Schuylkill River in New Ringold last night (5-13) From 4 until dark. The water was up and flowing hard in spots but was crystal clear and in very fishable condition. There was sporadic rising throughout the evening. Substantial winds kept any kind of a decent hatch from occuring. Lots of midges flying around and a caddis here or there. I caught one and it was a tan caddis around a size 16-18. The wind had a lot of debris on the surface which made fishing with dries really difficult. Switched over to a size 16 drowned black ant and nailed around 8 pretty fast. Picked up another 2 on caddis sparkle pupa tan size 16. I think a little warmer of a day with less wind would have been better for a dry fly fisherman.
