I know Mike has been promoting the Little Skuke a bit this year, and I have visited a couple times, the first being last June, so I figured I'd post my most recent results. I did well then and this Thursday, catching the hat trick of browns, rainbows and brookies. My dad and I even tangled with a couple little wild ones down one of the smaller channels.

It was windy as hell, so even though I saw likely hold-overs taking LBSs with gusto on one nice flat, I stuck to the streamer and the walt's worm. I moved a bunch, and got one of each, including a 13 inch brookies on the streamer. I caught at least a dozen on the walt's. We fished 5 hours and landed 25 or so between us.

Water temp was 46 at noon, and the stones and midges went off most of mid-day, and were still going at 4 PM when we left for home. Sunny and windy all day. My dad is 70 and does not fly fish, so the DHALO allowed us to fish together (the LS is also easy to wade for a 70 year old, who still gets around well). He caught 9 or 10 on a Rapala CD 1 or CD 3. I sold him on pinching down the barbs and removing the front hook on the CD 3 that has two sets of trebles. He landed just as many, and lost none. A small victory and educational moment, right? A couple pictures below:

I know! I hope I hold up as well! We used to call him William Shatner too (before a heart attack, two stents, and a lot of weight loss and healthier living).
