Hit up this stretch at daybreak yesterday.

Had great success with black and olive wooly buggers, fished slowly.
Many landed with the fish being all bows except for two browns.
All appeared to be fresh stockies.

Read somwhere else that there was a massive BWO hatch in the pm, but I was off the water by 10am, so I can neither confirm nor deny.

On a side note, there was a father and son across the stream from me who appeared to be bait fishing, They would cast out and hold their line waiting for a bite. Every fish they caught was hooked in the mouth, so they may have been dead drifting jigs, but I'd bet they were using some form of power bait. Did not want a confrontation, so I headed back to the car.

Wished I saw a WCO so he could check them out, but no luck.

The DH Area is only being stocked with RT preseason anymore...a change I made to improve catch rates in the cold waters of March...plus the RT are usually larger than the BT when stocked at this time of the year.

Yep, them browns are a biotch to grow to a decent size in a hatchery.

Looks like they are all bows in Bear Creek DHALO as well.
