Perfect conditions. Only real bug activity was some tiny yellow stone flies. No sulfurs yet.

How was the fishing? Catch many? Did you fish the special regs area or outside? Is it just my imagination or has LSC gone downhill over the past decade in terms of bug activity? I used to see really solid caddis, sulfur, Green Drakes... but it has been MANY years since I've encountered a good hatch. And I have been going during primetime... like now.

I just walked around at the Polk pumphouse area. If they weren't rising, I wasn't fishing. It still has green drakes. There are some coffin flies over the riffles when they hatch. Not yet , of course.
The water at the head of the FFO section isn't great. The trees down across the creek have dammed it so much that the lower part of that glide is silting in. It's shallower and faster. It used to hold fish, now just at the top where the bridge rubble is. Not much holding water on Little Sandy. And some of the best water above 62 has a tree laying across it, so you can't fish it. I wouldn't say it's gotten worse for trout or bugs, but it has for fishermen.
Oh, one favorite hole used to be right at the 62 bridge. That filled in years ago, but it was a good spot.
I live really close and I rarely fish it. I wouldn't hazzard a trip at all.

Ae you talking about the hole - or should I say former hole - just below the route 62 bridge?
The parking spot there has a memorial sign to a young fellow, whose name I can't remember now.
That was a really nice spot for sure
