Little Sandy, Venango Co, 4/17/11

First time out for 2011. I fished the DH section of Little Sandy. Water was high but very fishable. I saw a few other people upstream of the pumphouse but other than that I had the whole stream to myself. Caught several rainbows on a pink SanJuan worm including a 20" that gave me 3 nice leaps. I also fished the lower end by the highway and caught a few but did not stay long. The winds were howling on Sunday and being in the woods was getting downright dangerous. I heard 2 trees crash down not too far upstream and had several branches come down too close for comfort.
