Planning a weekend car camping trip out to little sandy creek this weekend. Anyone been out there recently? I know they stocked today but was hoping to get some more insight before I make the 2hr drive. Thanks all!

Little Sandy in NW PA? I wasn't there but I tried to fish Sugar Creek today which isn't very far away. It was too high and murky. No gauge on Sandy or Sugar but Oil Creek is over 1000 cfs today.

I haven't been there yet this year. But the last time I went last fall, the special regs area starting at the Pump House is no longer accessible by car. The gate is locked. To get to this stretch, you will have to park at either Rt 62 and walk up or at Rainbow Road and walk down. I'm not sure if they were able to get it reopened this year and I've heard rumors that they will no longer stock this section? Just one more victim of land posting.

Online it says they’ve stocked twice today but I’m not totally sure! Disappointing tho… was hoping to get a good weekend of fishing in. Might still go check it out unless anyone has some better advice on where to go

Good! There's still a lot of the stream you can fish that's typically well-stocked. There is some wild fish throughout, too. I'm just bummed that the special regs stretch is closed to access. It was very popular. In fact, Oil Creek Chapter of TU did a lot of work in that section. You can still fish it, just walk-in only. Good luck.

Yeah, bummer about not being able to park at the pumphouse, but I've been parking at the next bridge upstream and walking down, it's not far, and there are some fish to be caught in that section, so it's not all that bad.
Can also still park in the lower end as far as I know. I used to fish that section alot, but after quite a few floods, it's not what it used to be.
I also miss the plunge pools in the upper end.

I helped out at a PHW event on Sandy Creek on Wed, Seems like the area missed most of the thunderstorms that were moving through the last two days. It fished well in the morning before they stocked it, Grannoms were still around and a few fish were rising to them.
More rain is in the forecast, though.
