Time Fished: 10am - 1145am
Weather Conditions: While I was there it went from 75 to 84 degrees, Sunny and Clear
Water Conditions: 62 degrees & Crystal Clear
Insects: Saw 1 caddis and 1 small yellow stonefly

After fishing for 5 hours yesterday with a dry, I couldn’t bear going back to NWPA wet fly fishing. So I tied on a dry and prepared to take my lumps if needed.

I fished methodically upstream and caught 3 browns and lost one. The big hole is pretty shallow and barely moving. No fish were visible there. A blue heron quickly left when I showed up. There must be some fish in that hole if he was still coming back.

The fish were lovely. I’m no expert and never try to judge wild vs stocked. To me if it’s in a stocked stream I assume it was stocked. With that said, the 7 incher I caught sure was the right size, color and had good enough features to make me wonder. But the 2 larger fish looked perfect too, so I’m not sure.
