Fished the Heritage Section from 2-7:30 . Overcast and air temp ranged from 64-70 degrees. I did not take the water temperature. The flow was higher than normal but somewhat clear. Midges, Cranefly's and a few Sulphers hatching. There were very few fish rising, and most looked like they were chasing emergers.
I landed 6 Rainbows and Browns between 11-14 inches on size #18 and #20 Pheasant tails, and one on a size #16 Walts Worm . Not a terrible day but I expected to see alot more top water action. I tied on a Sulpher and fished to the risers that i saw but no takers.
Can any of the LL regulars tell me if I was just a little early for the Sulphers ? Can we expect a much heavier hatch within the next few weeks ? I am off of work on Tuesday and I want to find some dry fly action in Southeast Pa . Any suggestions would be appreciated.
