Little Lehigh, Lehigh County, 11/13/11

I decided to return to the Little Lehigh after a good outing last weekend and the fishing was just as good if not a little better.
I fished downstream of the Heritage section and above the fly shop.

Hatches- midges very active in the afternoon. The fish were midging in the shallow water along the banks. If you got the drift you got the fish.
Water clarity- very clear
Water level- 149CFS
Fish caught- rainbows and browns.
Best flys- Blood dots and small midges WD-4O in olive ( size 20) Iron midge (size 20)

Be careful in that area, fish have started to spawn. Redds are pretty obvious at this point.

I don't walk on Redds nor do I fish them. But please tell that to the other folks who fish the little lehigh.

It wasnt a crack at you, hope you didnt take it that way. I know that a lot of people read these posts, just a general reminder to people. Its my home waters, just looking at for it thats all

I know it wasn't a crack at me. I was just saying 🙂. Thanks for spreading the good advice. Sadly I see way to many people walking in spots they shouldn't be. I don't know if it's ignorance or if they are uninformed

My guess is uniformed. Before I started to fly fish, and I was just a spin guy I didn't really know about the whole spawning thing. Granted, I didn't fish a whole during the fall, but I would say that the average fisherman doesn't know what a redd is let alone how to spot one.

Ok have to ask what is a redd so I don't fish much in the fall till this year
